Meet Narcis Brasov.

A Teacher for School Board

As our children and teachers return to in-person learning, NLMUSD needs leadership from a Board Member who represents both Norwalk and La Mirada and who has taught thousands of students in our community.

At Norwalk High School, Narcis Brasov served as the Coordinator for Gifted and Talented Education, as the World Languages Department Chair, and on the Principal’s Advisory Council.

As a Spanish teacher, Narcis Brasov saw the need for courses better suited to his students’ needs, so he developed and taught a Spanish for Native Speakers course to better support students already fluent in Spanish.

Narcis Brasov can take the same out-of-the-box thinking to the NLMUSD School Board, to apply real world solutions to the needs of our students, teachers, and parents.

The Brasov Family

Narcis immigrated to the United States as the ninth of eleven children. Though his parents had very limited means, they knew that education was the way to succeed in this new land of freedom.

Narcis married his wife Erika in 2003. With Romanian, Guatemalan, and Dutch-Indonesian all in the mix, they are quite a multicultural family! In 2010 they became foster parents to two precious girls, and later to a teenage boy that they kept in contact with long after he was reunited with his family.

A few years ago, Narcis and Erika welcomed their child into their hearts and home, and are now seeking to complete a second adoption.

Narcis and Erika are actively involved in the Hispanic ministry at their church.
